A one-minute clip of bakonfreek's cc0 "dv tape (bearing) noise". The full 60 minutes caused me some download problems - i figured i'd drop this here for anyone having a similar issue. A clip from their description: this is my recreation of the noise in the background of a video shot on a consumer grade minidv camcorder (a well used one).

Sound output from playback of an old blank/empty type 1 audio tape that has an undulating pattern of noise. The volume hasn't been adjusted, so this is true to the amount of noise present in a tape recording.

A record player needle is dropped & crackling of the vinyl.

Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

Cassette tape noise recorded by playing empty cassette. Route thru a summit audio 2ba-221. No processing. Played on a tandberg tcd 310. Very loud, close recording of an old, partially functional wallensack reel-to-reel tape recorder. Recording includes the tape motor in operation and a piezo mic being dragged across the surface of the tape recorder. The recording has a fair amount of both background noise, and hum from the machine itself.

Relaxing vintage analog hissing for relaxation :). Source: sony wmd3 walkman, but the tape is not runnig. Recorded @96 khz with rme babyface pro fs. Unfortunately it didn´t work anymore after this recording. So bad :(. Ommmmm!^^.
